Ex-Macca's employee reveals a 'secret' menu item from the fast-food chain: "Did you know about this?"

When it comes to satisfying her sweet tooth, an ex-employee at Macca's has revealed her go-to secret menu item from the fast-food franchise.

When Queenie Tan was a teenager, she worked at McDonald's, and during that time, she discovered that you could order a mini sundae with a topping of your choosing.

In a recent video she posted on TikTok, she shared that this 'mini' version of a sundae was her favourite secret menu item from the fast-food chain.

Rather than paying $3 for a small cup or $4 for a large one, she mentioned that she always orders a "mini" version of a sundae for only $1.30, which comes with a topping of her choosing.

"You can get a soft-serve in a lid with chocolate or caramel sauce," she said. "It's just like a mini sundae but it only costs $1.30. Did you know about this?"

And from the looks of it, it seems like not many people know about this 'mini' sundae trick at Macca's!

Queenie's video, which has now been viewed over 400,000 times in the past few days, was flooded with comments from users admitting they never knew about the secret menu item, with one user even saying his "mind is blown".

"Thanks for the tip!" wrote a second one, with a third commenting: "That's great because I can't finish a whole one."

A fourth user shared that she was already aware of this tip and that she always does this whenever she visits the restaurant, saying that it helps her save money and reduce the number of calories that she consumes at the same time.

Meanwhile, other users suggested that you can also make a mini McFlurry by ordering a soft serve on a lid and adding toppings such as crushed Oreos and M&M's.

A serving of Macca's sundae may sound really good right now, but we have to admit that it's not always the healthiest option out there when it comes to desserts.

Regular ice cream is typically loaded with sugar and calories, and because it is so easy to consume an excessive amount of it, it can contribute to weight gain.

As a result, you might be interested in finding low-calorie options that still satiate your craving for sweets. Instead, why not try making your own low-calorie ice cream at home?

This way, you also have full control over the ingredients! You don’t even need an ice cream machine for this recipe below:

Here are the ingredients you will need:
  • 1 peeled, frozen banana
  • 1 cup (20 grams) of baby spinach
  • 2 tablespoons (30 grams) of unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) of peppermint extract
  • Just a few chocolate chips
And here's how to make it:
  1. Blend the banana, baby spinach, coconut milk, and peppermint extract in a blender until smooth.
  2. Blend for 5–10 seconds more after adding the chocolate chips.
And voila, you're done! This recipe makes enough for one serving and has 153 calories.

Enjoy your dessert, members!
