Esteemed Hollywood actor reveals plans for his future. Here's what's in store for his fans

The entertainment industry has evolved over the decades and has seen key players come and go.

Hollywood retirees are composed of names synonymous with the golden age of entertainment, and speculations have spread that an esteemed star could be a part of this long list soon.

Kevin Costner has proved that age is just a number.

The Hollywood legend, best known for his iconic roles in Dances With Wolves, The Bodyguard, and the hit TV series Yellowstone, has been a fixture on screens worldwide.

In a candid interview with People magazine, Costner was asked the question that's on many fans' minds: is he thinking about retirement?

His answer was as direct as it was inspiring.

'I don't even think about retiring, because I'll just move to the next thing that captures my imagination,' Costner responded.

Costner's recent comments came hot on the heels of his unexpected reunion with his ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner.

The ex-couple reunited at their son's graduation in Santa Barbara.

While the tabloids have been abuzz with speculation about his personal life, Costner himself is focused on what he does best—storytelling.

He's more energised than ever and has a creative fire that shows no signs of dimming.

For the 70-year-old star, it's not about following a bucket list.

'My imagination is what determines what I do, not a boss,' Kevin Costner explained.

'I've felt really lucky in my life. I'd like to think that I worked for all of it, but not everybody can live by the same blueprint.'

Costner's career has been a testament to following one's passions.

From his early days in the 1981 film Sizzle Beach, U.S.A., to his Oscar-winning turn in Dances With Wolves, he always chose the roles that excited him.

He has also worked with Hollywood heavyweights like Robert De Niro, Andy Garcia, and Sean Connery in The Untouchables.

Yet, Costner's talents do not stop at acting.

He is also a director, writer, and producer with a knack for bringing epic stories to life.

Kevin Costner's latest project, Horizon: An American Saga, is a sweeping Western saga where he juggles both acting and direction roles.

The said movie would be composed of four films, with the first two already making waves at international film festivals.

Despite his decades-long tenure in the industry, Costner's enthusiasm for storytelling has not waned.

'I have that list, but I don't refer to it that way. But certainly, my eyes and my enthusiasms are wide open and very big,' Costner explained.

He's always on the lookout for the next idea that will spark his imagination, whether it's a film, a TV series, or something entirely new.

In a separate interview with AARP, Costner reflected on his future as a celebrity.

'I really feel like some of the great surprises I have are in front of me,' he shared.

'As I play out the second half of my career, I've been doing a lot of writing, and there are projects I still want to do.'

Of course, his life has not been smooth sailing.

Costner's personal life has been under scrutiny, especially after his divorce from Christine Baumgartner in 2023.

The couple, who were married for nearly two decades and share three children, finalised their split after a bitter legal battle.

Baumgartner has since moved on and is now engaged to financier Josh Connor.

Despite the challenges, Costner has remained focused on his family and his work.

He openly spoke about the importance of making a difference, not just for himself but for others as well.

'I've enjoyed life and imagining what I can do, what can I be about and what makes a difference,' Costner explained.

'Not only to me but to other people. What just satisfies me? I go through that whole idea, and you realise it's about time. It's a rush to get to all of them.'

Kevin Costner's approach to life and work should be a reminder that it's never too late to chase new dreams or reinvent yourself.

Whether you're thinking about a new hobby, a career change, or want to keep your mind active, there's no age limit on imagination or ambition.
