Marilyn Mayo was the host of The Super Flying Fun Show, a children's program that took off in the 1970s.

Miss Marilyn's vibrant presence and rapport with her young audience made her a household name.

Her impact on Australian television has been fondly remembered since news of her death broke.

The Super Flying Fun Show was a highlight of many Aussie childhoods, with Miss Marilyn's cheerful demeanour and engaging personality capturing children's hearts nationwide.

Yet, Miss Marilyn's talents were not confined to children's television.

Marilyn Mayo's versatility shone through in her later roles, as she played Dusty, the barmaid on the 1980s soap opera Holiday Island.

Her performance on Holiday Island added depth to her career and showcased her ability to connect with mature audiences.

She also served as a panellist on Beauty and the Beast alongside hosts John Laws and Clive Robertson.

Mayo's sharp wit and intelligence made her a standout in the program.

Marilyn Mayo graced other popular Australian TV series throughout her career.

She had guest appearances in popular Aussie shows Home and Away, Water Rats, Heartbreak High, E Street, and A Country Practice.

She took each role with enthusiasm and professionalism, which left a lasting impression on viewers and co-stars alike.

After a vibrant showbiz career, Mayo retired from the entertainment industry in 2000.

Entertainment journalist Craig Bennett talked about Marilyn Mayo's health struggles online.

Mayo suffered a severe brain haemorrhage in 2020—an event from which she bravely fought back.

Marilyn Mayo's daughters, Katrina Medina and Lillian Lyon, requested Bennett to share the news of their mum's passing.

They expressed their relief that she is now free from the physical limitations that had confined her to a wheelchair or bed in her final years.

Bennett, who had known Marilyin Mayo since the 1980s, paid tribute to her after her passing.

'Marilyn was a total one-off—a wonderful wit, whip-smart, and the best company,' Bennett shared.

'Despite the ravages brought about by the stroke, she was upbeat, greeted you with a warm smile always, and retained her stunning repartee to the end.'

Yep…absolutely convinced that I must live under a cabbage bush, because once again I have never head of these two “influential figures of the entertainment world”
Really! Miss Marilyn was a hottie during her time in the Super Flying Fun Show, in the 1970s along with Barbara Eden of I Dream Of Jeannie.

Two of my guilty pleasures. And not the type you think....
