ALDI revealed their latest 'giant' hot cross bun offering in partnership with Aussie brand Budgy Smuggler.

The partnership got many hot cross buns fans talking as they showed off their buns in a whole new way!

They announced the first Giant Brioche Hot Cross Bun—a treat with 11 servings of French brioche, generously filled with fruit and spices.


This limited-edition offering is more than just a hot cross bun; it's an oversized Easter speciality that weighs 550g and is close to 20 cm in diameter—nearly the size of a football!

Luke Iemma, ALDI Australia's Buying Director for Bread and Bakery, shared his excitement about the Easter treat.

'We are always excited to introduce our customers to new additions to our Easter bakery range each year, and we're sure hot cross bun aficionados will love ALDI's Giant Brioche Hot Cross Bun this season,' Mr Iemma stated.


In a playful twist of events ALDI has teamed up with Budgy Smuggler to release limited-edition Bun-gy Smugglers.

This collaboration combined the love of Easter treats with Australia's penchant for cheeky swimwear.

The collection included the iconic Budgy bottoms and one-piece swimmers, available at Budgy Smuggler stores at 'great low prices'.

The men's ALDI Bun-gy Smuggler bottoms are available for $58.50, while the women's one-piece will be available for $90.

Jimmy Exelby, Budgy Smuggler's Head of Partnerships, shared his excitement about the collaboration.

'ALDI does 'Good Different', we do 'Good Smuggling', so it's a no-brainer to combine forces and deliver the hottest buns this Easter,' he quipped.

'These tasty treats are more than just 'good different'; they are perfect for anyone who wants to look and feel like a snack.'


For those who love to lounge by the pool, enjoy the beach, or like to run down to ALDI for another giant hot cross bun, these Bun-gy Smugglers should be comfortable to wear.

However, it's not just about looking good and enjoying a giant treat.

There's a heartwarming reason behind the quirky collaboration.

All profits from the Bun-gy Smugglers will go to ALDI's national charity partner, Camp Quality.

Camp Quality aims to bring positivity, fun, and laughter back into the lives of children facing cancer.

To kick the partnership off, ALDI has given away 100 pairs of these exclusive swimmers to its '#ALDIcore shoppers' before they hit the Budgy Smuggler stores.

The competition is already underway and should close on 23 March.
