Electric Heaters​

Who remembers these electric heaters or radiators from the 1970s? Many homes like mine had a Vulcan just like this one.
I used to put my school clothes on the top during cold winter mornings.
It was only many years later that we all learnt what a fire hazard they were, especially if something covered the front section. And they also used up a lot of electricity. But at the time they were a modern innovation and created warmth for the lounge room.

Yep my sisters bedroom caught fire, the cat entered through the window and pushed the curtains over the front of the electric heater.

Yes, we had one. Just as well we don’t use them now, as you would need 5he Bank of England to pay the electricity bill. They use to a lot of electricity.
