Effortless hack for cleaning stove top grates

We understand that cleaning can often be quite the chore, particularly after cooking when oil and food gets everywhere. It’s hard to maintain our stovetops’ gleaming and mess-free condition without strong chemicals and lots of elbow grease.

Thankfully for us, a clean-fluencer from Perth shared her ‘effortless’ hack for cleaning stove top grates. The best part? No scrubbing is needed!

“I'm passionate about home styling and a well-organised space,” said mum-of-two Carolina McCauley, who manages the Home Hacks page on both Instagram and TikTok.

Her video on cleaning her stove top burner grates without scrubbing recently went viral, and people cannot believe how easy it was!

First, she placed her stovetop grates in the sink along with two dishwashing tablets.

Then, she proceeded to submerge them in hot water and let them soak.

After a bit of time, the stovetop grates come out spotless clean!

"I've been doing this weekly, and my stove tops look brand new after they’ve had this bath," wrote one follower.

“Omg, I’ve been looking for a way to clean these for ages! Will give this a go,” said another.

On her Instagram and TikTok page, Carolina shares many more home cleaning hacks, even DIY cleaning products and kitchen gadget reviews.

But when it comes to cleaning, there is one product that she swears by.

“I'll never get tired of saying that White Vinegar is the best cleaning ingredient!” Carolina said.

“It is natural, doesn't harm the environment or body, and it works so you can bin your harmful chemicals.”

Fans who have been following her also agree, saying, “Because of you, I clean everything with vinegar!”

“I love vinegar. I have chemical sensitivities, so I use soap, vinegar, hot water, peroxide and baking soda,” another added.

“My house is clean but not toxic.”

This cleaning hack is pretty damn good! Who knew you could clean stove top grates while reading a book or watching TV? We are definitely going to try this one out.

This will probably work for oven racks and trays, too? I'm going to give it a try. 🤔Will not try it on teflon-coated trays though. 🤔 What a pity I cannot fill the oven with boiling hot water, pop in a few dishwashing tablets, hear it go slish-slosh, slish-slosh for 30 minutes and then have a shiny clean oven! ;)

That would be ideal! My sink isn't big enough to do this :(

I will be doing this at least once a week. Also, soak the removal gas jets in the same solution.
