Salmon is a great source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids, and when it's paired with the right ingredients, it can be absolutely delicious. The salmon is cooked in a homemade teriyaki sauce made of soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and Sriracha.

This recipe calls for a few simple ingredients that you likely already have in your kitchen and can be on the table in under 20 minutes. So, without further ado, let’s get started.

Ingredients:

300g salmon fillet, cubed
1 tablespoon oil
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon light brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
1 teaspoon fresh grated garlic
1 teaspoon Sriracha (optional)
2 shallots, sliced
2 teaspoons sesame seeds

Instructions:

1. In a large skillet, heat oil on medium-high heat.

2. Add cubed salmon and cook until browned and cooked through.

3. While salmon is cooking, prepare the teriyaki sauce: In a medium-size bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and Sriracha (if using).

4. Once salmon is cooked, add teriyaki sauce to skillet and continue to cook, stirring until the sauce has thickened. Add sliced shallots.

5. Serve salmon immediately with white or brown rice and avocado or vegetables of your choice. Garnish with sesame seeds and more shallots. Enjoy!

This recipe is easy to follow and results in a wonderfully flavourful and healthy meal. This meal is perfect for a weeknight dinner, but it's also impressive enough to serve to guests. So, whether you're cooking for yourself or others, this salmon teriyaki recipe is sure to please.

I used to put a piece of salmon in an oven bag with a packet of terryaki sauce and a teaspoon of pre grated ginger. Sounds very similar and very nice. 😀😀
