Drink that nearly exploded​

Who remembers this drink ,which once you added water it would fizz up. You would quickly drink it before it stopped fizzing.

I used to love this stuff and why on earth cant you buy it anymore and to satisfy a thirst of a 1000 camels it was the best thing ever but be careful to reseal the tin and NEVER put a wet spoon into the can

Oh yeah, I remember stirring it into a glass of water and watching it fizz.
And then when you started drinking at the bubbles would go up your nose!

My Father had a Glass of it everyday. He had a problem that I wasn't fully aware of. It is still available today, but difficult to purchase. The major Supermarkets sell it. It is now known as WARDS SALINE.

My father drank a glass every day to replenish salts and minerals. He was a heavy drinker so I guess it helped him.

I was at boarding school in the '70s. We couldn't get out to purchase fizzy drinks, but someone always had a tin of saline. Yum.

We regularly drank this stuff! It has bi carb soda in it hence the fizz and salty taste! Not good for you if you have high blood pressure! But what did we know back then, we just liked the fizz and bubbles up our nose .

You can still buy it in supermarkets or chemist warehouse etc it also goes by salvital.
