Dream bedroom on a budget – home stylist uses affordable Kmart buys!

Who said that you have to splash the cash just to achieve the bedroom of your dreams?

Here, an Aussie home stylist shows us how to design a bedroom that can land on the popular pages of Instagram and Pinterest – using budget products from our favourite retail store, Kmart!

Sharing the stunning images online, Stacie revealed that she used affordable products from Kmart to achieve the bright yellow and white-themed bedroom setup.

The Cairns-based home stylist filled the blank corners, walls and bedside tables with home decor items from the budget retailer, giving the room an entirely different vibe and turning it into a sophisticated space in no time.

See for yourself and take a look at the before-and-after photo below!

Pretty amazing, right?

Kacie allowed the queen-sized bed to be the centrepiece of the entire room, surrounding it with luxe accents of bright yellow to further support the room's colour palette.

She covered it in a sunshine yellow quilt cover from Linen House and several matching pillows, along with a $21 white throw blanket from Kmart. There was also a second yellow and white textured throw for that additional touch of patterned fabric.

As for the other Kmart products she used, Stacie bought two $47 rattan bedside tables to match the rattan bench bought from Eureka Street.

Then she added a touch of sophistication to the bedside tables using stylish vases like this $13 glazed ceramic vase and the popular $8 circle cutout vase, along with some decorative beads. Very chic!

Hundreds of people who saw Stacie's post on social media were inspired by her design, with plenty of them saying they never thought this could be done on a budget.

In total, Stacie's Kmart haul cost her less than $200. What a bargain!

"Absolutely amazing, love seeing so much colour," one user wrote in the comments of her post. Another agreed and added: "This is beautiful! Love the quilt!"

"Looks great and not spending huge amounts of money is a bonus!" said a third.

We have to agree – that room looks amazing! We love the pop of colour as well!

However, we also understand that not everyone has an extra hundred of dollars to spare to buy these Kmart items.

So we're also sharing with you guys some tips on how to decorate your home for free! Yes, you read that right members. You don't have to spend any money at all.

I see posts like these all the time and curse the fact that my closest Kmart 100km away just does not have the stock available. It seems as if Regional stores are bottom of the list when it comes to re stocking and there is no point in trying to find any of the advertised products even if you can be bothered trawling through the store in person. To buy anything on line sounds easy but have you seen the delivery cost!! it is not just kmart either Our Brand new Bunnings Warehouse store is literally half empty. Do not get me started on the condition of the shelves in the Supermarkets either, some of the food stuff I would usually buy has not been available for well over a year. Yes I know Covid is causing supply problems but give us a break!!

The things I can't get my head around are throws and extra cushions. Why? You just end up chucking them on the floor when you go to bed, they have no real purpose. And who sees your bedroom anyway? Surely if you have a spare $200 lying around doing nothing and you want to spend it on your home there are many more worthwhile projects.;)

Sorry Ricci we usually agree on most things posted on here and I have no doubt that you and my husband would agree with each other on the above post from you, However, I am one of those people who put throws and extra cushions on the Bed and sometimes various other peices of furniture in the bedroom because i like the way that it looks, to me It looks cosy and inviting as well as just being decorative I know that I am often the bane of my poor husbands existence no matter which home handy man project he attempts but for me Something just being functional is not enough, it has too look good as well.

Each to their own. It would be a very sad world if we all liked the same stuff and agreed on everything.:D
