Domino’s employee comes through for brokenhearted birthday girl in MOVING act of compassion

One’s birthday is perhaps his or her most special day of the year. Usually, it is taken as a time to be spent celebrating with friends and loved ones.

But what do you do when no one shows up to your birthday party?

This story’s answer: you better hope there’s a kind and compassionate person at a Domino’s near you.

Kidding aside, one Coolum girl had the very real and saddening experience of being stood up on her birthday.

According to reports, this prompted the girl’s mum to cancel an initial large order and downsize it to just one pizza as almost none of her daughter’s invited friends went to her party.

The situation eventually reached the store’s shift supervisor named Miles, who decided to change the situation for the better.

With what he had on hand, Miles fashioned a custom dessert-style pizza with chocolate, churros, and brownies enough to make any kid cry tears — but those of joy!

As a thoughtful parting touch, Miles wrote ‘Happy B’day’ (in chocolate!) on the back of the custom pizza box.

Miles’ feat was shared by the official Facebook account of Domino’s Australia in a post, where literally more than a thousand people gave their commendations for his laudable act.

One commenter wrote: ‘Well done, Miles. You sound like a great human!’

Another said ‘Miles was raised right!! Well done mate!!’

‘Give this kid a raise. What seems like a small thing is actually such a massive act of kindness,’ one person urged the pizza chain.

Others also took their time to express their sadness and sympathies for the kid’s plight.

One parent wrote: ‘This is heartbreaking, as a mum of a couple of autistic kids I know what it's like when your children don't have friends to invite to parties. His story really touched my heart.’

‘I hope the love being sent to this Mum for her daughter lets her know that there are a lot of beautiful people out there, just like Miles and to remind her daughter that this happens but it won't always be like this,’ the parent added.

It also appears that the girl’s mum has nothing but gratitude for the outpouring of support for her child.

In the comments section Lauren O’Rourke wrote of her daughter, ‘Skylah had a lovely birthday with two very special friends. The visit from Miles at our door was overly special and the biggest surprise.’

‘The love from our community has been the most memorable for our family. So much love. We are so appreciative and grateful to live this beautiful life. Sending love and happiness to everyone,’ she added.

O’Rourke also confirmed Domino’s has since been in touch with her family, and that they have something in store for poor Skylah in response to calls to throw the kid the ‘best birthday ever’.

Truly, acts of kindness like what Miles did make the world a better place, and we all walk away from reading this story feeling a little lighter.

How about you? Do you know of any people like Miles who went out of their way to be of service to others?

An amazing young man.

My daughter ( his aunt and godmother) gave my autistic grandson a toy story birthday party for his 10th birthday he is now 13.
She did it at my sons house so it would be close for his school friends to come.

We invited 4 of his special needs friends and their parents , they all RSVP that they were coming

My daughter hired a huge toy story jumping castle . A room was entirely decorated in a toy.
story theme and we dressed the birthday boy as the cowboy in toy story.

Sadly no one turned up. I don't think my grandson was even aware of the situation, he wouldn't leave the jumping castle .
Most of my 13 kids were there along with their partners and kids and together we celebrated this beautiful boy

At least she now knows they those she invited are not really her friends, I feel for her and hope she gets new friends

Hi Suzanne rose, So, sorry to hear of your family's bad Birthday experience. Unfortunately, many people think that a child with special needs doesn't have sensitive feelings like other people.
My Granddaughter has Rett Syndrome and is non-verbal among other health problems.
She is now home schooled, with lovely carers coming on rotation for her therapies.
For her Birthday this August, the family went to a petting zoo for a picnic and the lovely carers went as well.
Unfortunately for me, they now live in Queensland so I couldn't go as I live in Melbourne.
But they did all came down to surprise my Husband and me this year, both of our boys contrived this and wow, were we ever surprised.

Hi Suzanne rose, My Granddaughter is now 13 years old. She is a lovely, happy little girl and brings so much joy to her family. It is hard work for them looking after her but as my Daughter-in-law says, she has taught them so much in return. She has a brother, who actually turned 11 today. Ever since was a little boy, whenever he was given a biscuit for example he always said, and one for Bella. He is still such a loving, gentle brother to her. Wishing you Best Wishes with your Grandson and your family.
