Hey there, everyone! How's your day shaping up? I hope it's going just swimmingly.

Now, I'd love to hear from all of you lovely members. Do you have heart-warming memories from your own—or perhaps someone else's—special day? Don't be shy and share it with us! We're all eyes and eager to read about the moments that make your heart swell with joy.

On the morning of my wedding my husband to be, sent me 100 long stemmed red roses, with the following note attached:

“I cannot wait to marry you, you are the love of my life!!……Don’t be late
I hope you beloved Collingwood win today!!
See you at 4.00pm”

I have so many great memories. Can't say much about mine as our families p us off so we eloped.

But we have many precious memories of our daughters wedding .

One of our daughters married two weeks ago and my special memory is her dancing with her dad to When I put on my make up. A song she used to sing and dance with her dad when she was little . I wished I could share the video.

Our wedding day was also a federal Election Day, so it was very busy, no prepoll back then that I remember. So off to vote, off to hairdressers, hubby had to stay the previous night at his brothers as it was raining and the risk of the creeks on the way to his parents flooding was high. Hubby, the best man and groomsmen created a stir by walking down the aisle of the church instead of through a back door. The minister thought it was me arriving and no groom had arrived. The guests all got a giggle out of it. Hubby claimed he wasn’t nervous but he did put out his right hand for me to put the ring onto. Oops. The reception was a lot of fun, we didn’t leave until almost midnight. We were ok but hubby’s parents couldn’t get home that night, the creeks were in flood, so they had to stay at the brothers. My garter fell off while we were getting photos taken, so we have a couple of photos with the garter peeking out from below the hem of my dress. The photographer eventually noticed it, so hubby put it back on my leg, then removed it later at the reception. Back then it was tradition that the groom was tipped upside down and confetti tipped down his trouser legs, this happened to hubby just before we left. I think we left a trail of confetti all through the motel room where we spent our wedding night. Confetti was tipped in our car as we left as well, took awhile to clean it all out. But it was a great day. I always thought confetti made such a lovely addition to a wedding, it’s a shame it was so messy and had to be discontinued. We sometimes sit and look through our wedding photo albums and reminisce, our grandkids love to look at the photos.
