Disneyland employee RUINS couple's proposal, divides the internet – what do you think?

The moment Ante got down on one knee on a stage in front of Sleeping Beauty's castle in the Happiest Place on Earth, he hoped it would be the perfect moment to propose to his girlfriend.

These hopes, however, were shattered by an employee of Disneyland Paris who was dressed in a polo shirt and wore Mickey Mouse ears attached to a headband.

Just as Ante was about to remove the engagement ring from his pocket, a Disneyland employee dashed onto the stage, grabbed it, and directed him and his girlfriend down the stairs.

According to a video of the event that was posted on Reddit last week, the employee suggested that they continue their proposal on the ground rather than on the platform, which was reportedly 'off-limits'.

The proposal was interrupted, and as a result, the story has gone viral on the internet. Thousands of users on social media have vented their anger at Disney, with many of them rallying in support of the couple.

The crowd began to boo after the staff member dashed into the frame, grabbed the engagement ring, and motioned the stunned couple down to another location.

As fairytale music swirled in the air, Ante and his girlfriend descended the stairs. After they had reached the bottom, the staff member returned the ring to them and informed them, "That's the rule."

The camera then stepped back for a moment, revealing that the platform from which the couple had just been escorted was behind a locked gate.

The video has been met with a range of responses on the internet, with some people condemning the staff member and others rushing to his defence, arguing that it was obvious that the couple did not have permission to be where they were.

On the forum site Reddit, one user wrote of the Disney employee, "He looked really happy to have the chance to destroy a romantic moment. Really awful evil guy right there."

A second user agreed and added, "I was trying to figure out whether the dude was happier enforcing rules or ruining the moment. He was genuinely pleased with himself for ruining the moment."

Meanwhile, a third person commended the boyfriend for his composure during the unexpected situation. "The guy deserves credit for not becoming angry. Great display of character in front of your soon-to-be wife."

On the other hand, not everyone raised their pitchforks against the theme park employee. There were also users who rushed to his defence, claiming that he was most likely just doing his job.

"I'm guessing that visitors aren't usually allowed up there. The man asked one of the workers for permission, and the worker probably said yes. Perhaps the employee who granted permission wasn't actually authorised to make that decision," commented one user.

Others pointed out that guests are not permitted on the stage platform where the couple proposed because it frequently has potentially hazardous pyrotechnics set up for performances.

Because the gate at the bottom of the stairs was closed in the video, they suspected the couple hopped the fence without permission.

What are your thoughts, folks? Are you with Ante on this one, or are you taking the employee’s side? Let us know in the comments!

It seems a bit over the top, but as the groom-to-be didnt get annoyed, are we sure that this wasnt perhaps a planned interruption to make the propasal more memorable. It went viral so they have a great story to tell.
