'Disgusting': Drivers call out man breaking rules while driving at 'freeway speeds'

Driving is a skill that requires full attention and adherence to road rules.

This is to ensure everyone's safety—not only yours but also of others who share the road.

However, some drivers were willing to throw caution to the wind, as evidenced by a recent incident that left many drivers shaking their heads in disbelief.

In a display of recklessness, a male driver was spotted cruising along an Aussie highway with his feet hanging out the driver's side window.

To add to the danger, his left arm rested behind the car seat headrest, all while he was travelling solo at 'freeway speeds'.

Footage of the public display of recklessness spread online and sparked a wave of concern and criticism.

Many drivers saw this as a 'moronic' act.

'How can he brake in an emergency? Risking not only himself but others on the road. Disgusting,' one woman commented.

Another person said that the man could end up in 'an instant mess in an accident'.

Many called for his licence to be revoked, with one Aussie summing up the sentiment by calling him a 'complete and utter idiot'.

Australian road rules require all occupants of a moving vehicle to keep their limbs inside at all times.

This law has been a critical safety measure that could prevent road accidents and injuries.

Drivers and passengers alike have faced fines for failing to comply, with penalties varying per state.

New South Wales drivers who break this rule could face a fine of $337 and receive three demerit points.

Meanwhile, in Victoria and Queensland, the fines could go between $141 and $298, respectively.

This is not the first time a driver has been caught in a similar act.

A similar incident occurred on a Melbourne highway, with then-Inspector Bernie Rankin classifying the driver's behaviour as 'conduct endangering life'.

As seniors who have seen many changes over the years, driving safely and responsibly is of utmost importance.

It is not just about following the law; it is also about respecting the well-being of everyone who shares the road with us.

I've seen so many young drivers doing crazy things over this holiday season.....because of the heat, the passengers hang legs and arms out the windows with little thought of what would happen if the car was involved in an accident.
Should be the drivers responsibility to stop passengers doing this, but obviously most don't care, especially if they're doing the same, as in the photo we saw.
It beggars belief how some people get a licence to drive a car....it should be made more difficult for young people to get a licence....for their own good and also for the good of other drivers on the road. Too many innocent people are getting killed because of the actions of some reckless idiots.
