I bought my great nephew clothes from Kmart for Christmas and they are so reasonably priced considering children grow out of clothes so quickly. However, I start making and buying Christmas presents for family and friends in January of each year. Helps keep the dollars down and a personalised gift is usually appreciated.

Maybe I'm getting jaded in my old age but I can honestly say that none of the items mentioned would make me excited to either give or receive. 😟 ;)

I also start buying Christmas gifts early in the year. We only buy for kids and grandkids and a maximum of 4 gifts for family members from our secret Santa big family get together. We only spend $30 on each family gift. Kids and older grandkids get a couple of small items and gift cards or cash. 8 year old granddaughter gets a bigger gift, a book, a couple of small gifts and cash as she loves to have cash to choose something for herself. All grandkids get money deposited into the trust accounts we have for them as well. Hubby and I haven’t bought gifts for each other for many years as we prefer not to spend money on ourselves.
