The Kmart clothesline, which comes with a wooden frame, four wheels, and five racks, would have taken up too much space in Leanne's laundry room. But she didn't let that stop her.

Leanne got creative and split the product in the middle, then mounted it to the wall to save floor space. This way, she could easily fold it away when not in use, and the racks also doubled as towel holders when folded down. Talk about a multi-functional laundry station!

With her DIY indoor clothesline, Leanne can now dry her clothes faster, even on rainy days, without sacrificing precious space in her laundry. It's a budget-friendly hack that's both practical and creative.

So, if you're looking for a cost-effective way to upgrade your laundry routine, why not try building your own indoor clothesline? Newer version of the old pulley we had in Scotland/England years ago , without the fans, so no I wouldn’t have one , it’s ugly! Looks flimsy and you would probably have to keep repairing it, looks a nightmare to install, watching my hubby put this together would be a challenge 🤣 and take a week to install! If I had a choice and not in a downsized home I would have the old rope/wooden version any day

You still need to hang the clothes and it uses electricity so it's like combining a clothes dryer and hanging the clothes 🤔
And it would look ugly in your house and even uglier with clothes hanging off it.

I think I will stick to hanging my clothes on the clothes line out in the thing we call The Sun and when it's raining I have my undercover out door area.

I can imagine thus would be something you need to get serviced and repaired at sometime

I can't imagine anything much worse. You would need a very large area in order to have space to stand & hang the clothes & then remove them. Then you have to duck & dive around the washing while you wait for it to dry. No way. I'll stick to my good old Hills Hoist & the sunshine. If it rains then the verandah or carport are both good options to hang my washing.

I'll take the free sunshine that makes my towels and blankets so gorgeous. Also there isn't anything nicer than the smell of freshly folded laundry.
Definitely. I’m sure it has its uses BUT with the cost of electricity and the shortage of it that will be in the future , is it really worth considering? Maybe in the countries that have lots of snow.

My daughter went down south for Easter and had taken her sheets and bed linen to the laundromat b4 she left so she could wash n dry quickly and make her bed. This is a ritual she does so that when she comes home she comes back to a clean fresh bed.

Saturday I went to wake up my son as he was heading out to Randwick races and his bed wasn't slept in ...where was he ? In my daughters big comfy bed as he called it . He also slept in it for the next 2 nights and Monday morning made it perfect, I told him she will still know

I forgot about it and when she came home at 4pm went upstairs and straight away screamed out ' who's been sleeping in my bed ' I started laughing as she sounded like the bears from Goldilocks.

I washed her sheets yesterday and said now she can sleep in a bed smelling of sunshine instead of a laundromat dryer

Holey Moley that’s some price! The old ‘pulleys’ we had in Scotland were the best means of drying on wet days. Only drawback was they were hung from the kitchen ceiling, so damp clothes could pick up cooking smells. 🙁 🤣 When we built a laundry recently, we bought a flat Airing Cupboard from Bunnings - open the doors and pull down two racks for drying. Not a huge space, but does the job beautifully! And… no cooking smells. 🤣

Our winter washing solution, just like the one my mother had in the kitchen in England - although it’s even more practical with our 10ft ceilings. And it has a ducted A/C outlet above it, so the clothes get dry really quickly.

Love having washing outside drying in the sun & hopefully a bit of wind. In winter l wash off an evening and hang clothes on an airer under my heat pump which we run overnight in cold Tasmania. Everything is dry by morning so no need for more fancy gadgets cluttering up the house.

It sounds like a great idea. Very much like the dryers our forebears used 100+ years ago, albeit with electrical help.
I use one of the latter in my laundry. Made by my husband some 20 years ago for a cost of about $20. If necessary I put a fan in the room.

What the hell would you want that thing in your ceiling for, here's an idea go outside and hang your clothes on the line in the FRESH AIR and SUNSHINE, if you can't do that buy the one that goes under you carport at least it is still out side.

I in Tassie as well, very rarely do I not get my washing 90% dry hanging it out side then I bring it in and hang on clothes airers and on our verandah that faces West and it is great for getting all the sun and drying it off the rest of the way.
