One tough cleaning task everyone will inevitably face is dealing with rust. Once it sets in, it can be incredibly stubborn to remove.

In a video she uploaded on social media, Kacie demonstrated how Bar Keepers Friend, an all-purpose cleanser and polish, can easily lift unsightly rust when applied to a wet surface with a brush.

She also said that the cleaning product works well in removing tough stains without too much elbow grease.

In the video, Kacie could be seen sprinkling the powder over a wet surface where patches of rust have accumulated behind a metal shower caddy.

After only a minute of application, she rinsed the area to reveal a rust-free surface – and voila! As Kacie exclaims, ‘Look at that, rust stain is gone’.

Kacie, who is also the founder of the cleaning company Big Clean Co, said: ‘Have you got rust stains that have been there a while, and you’ve tried everything? Magic eraser, Jif, bleach, and nothing has even the slightest impact?’

‘You need some Bar Keepers Friend. I don’t know what they put in this stuff, but it’s like magic,’ she continued.

Kacie regularly uses the highly effective Gumption cleaning paste, which costs just $5.40, for her cleaning jobs.

However, she admits that she still finds herself reaching for Bar Keepers Friend when it comes to tackling those most difficult of stains.

‘I find BKF (Bar Keepers Friend) to be most powerful on rust stains,’ she claimed.

Her video, which has been viewed over 20,000 times, has received glowing endorsements from many shoppers who also confirm that Bar Keepers Friend is, indeed, ‘gold’.

One happy user stated: ‘Works fantastic on stainless steel too.’

While another added: ‘It's amazing – I use it all the time.’

Not only is Bar Keepers Friend a great rust remover, but it's also an affordable and readily available product, making it the perfect addition to your cleaning arsenal.

There I was actively reducing the amount of cleaners in my cupboard and converting to natural homemade products as per your suggestion and then recently you tell us of a slew of items we can't live without and all available at either the supermarket or Bunnings. I can't keep up with it all! ;)

Ajax, Vim etc. All powder cleaners from years ago. Would imagine this is just the same. I use Koh on everything, but for a really stubborn stain Gumption. 👍
