Derwent pencils- raised on wed 13 July newsletter​

Derwent are still going strong- they have a variety of pencils now- studio, artist, watercolour, intense, colour soft, pro colour. I got my first set 53 years ago, and still use them with my art classes. I also use a lot of other brands as well for my own work.

Oh, woah! Must be top-notch quality if you've been using them for 53 years and they're still good. Can I ask what you do in your art classes? Do you draw or sketch?

its with high school students, so the seniors choose own topics/subject matter and mediums and fulfil the SACE requirements by specialising in what they want to develop.. Younger students it is usually part of mixed media tasks as we try to expose the yr 7/8 in a 10 week program with as many media as we can and so mixed media is often used- rubbings, stencilling, pencils, watercolour, acrylic, papers, markers.
My favourite pencils however for myself now include polychromos, prismacolour, and Caran d"ache luminance.
