Sizzle steak, baby yellow potatoes, garlic, butter, and spices come together in this delicious and easy-to-follow recipe for Garlic Butter Steak and Potatoes Skillet.

This recipe is perfect for a weeknight meal or to entertain guests. The steak is cooked to perfection, and the potatoes are fork-tender. The chilli flakes give the dish a little bit of heat, but you can omit them if you prefer.

To make this delicious dish, you need:

500g sizzle steak (or substitute to suit your preference), sliced against the grain
500g baby yellow potatoes, quartered
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 tablespoons butter, divided
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon rosemary
1 teaspoon oregano
Salt and fresh cracked pepper
Crushed chilli flakes (optional)

The marinade:

1/3 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon hot sauce (eg. sriracha or tabasco)
Fresh cracked pepper

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, combine the steak strips with soy sauce, olive oil, pepper, and hot sauce. Set aside and let the steak strips marinate.

2. While the steak strips are marinating, mix 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Let the butter melt, then add potatoes wedges. Cook for about 4 minutes, stirring until potato wedges are golden and fork-tender. Transfer sauteed potatoes to a plate and set aside.

3. Keep the same skillet over medium heat and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, garlic, chilli flakes, and herbs. Add the steak strips in one layer in the skillet, keeping the drained steak marinade for later. Cook the steak strips on each side for 1 minute each, until nicely browned (adjust time depending on cut of steak).

4. If you like, just before the steak is done, stir in the reserved marinade and cook for one minute. Return the potato wedges to the garlic butter steak pan and heat through—season with salt and pepper to taste.

5. Remove from the heat and serve immediately. Garnish with additional chilli flakes and fresh herbs, if desired. Enjoy!

To make this dish extra special, try adding a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese over the potatoes before serving. This dish is sure to please everyone at the table.
