Customers left ANGRY after McDonald’s stops selling beloved drink

Soft drinks are an essential part of the Aussie fast food experience.

Honestly, who doesn’t love a good old chug of fizzy sweetness after a great meal? That way a burp is all but guaranteed when you finish drinking! (sorry, that was a bit gross)

If you can relate to those sensations, we have some potentially disappointing news for you.

Starting from now, popular fast food chain McDonald’s will no longer be selling regular Sprite – only its sugar free variant, Sprite Zero.

This news was broken by Aussie food blogger Russ Eats, who shared a video on social media site TikTok of him trying to order a medium Sprite and a chicken burger with bacon at a certain Macca’s.

In the clip, Russ can be first heard asking an employee via drive-through if they still have regular Sprite, and she then confirms that it's been permanently scrapped from the menu in favour of its no sugar counterpart.

After achieving his goal to prove that there isn’t any regular Sprite anymore, he picks his order up and drives off.

Unfortunately, though, not only did the Macca’s forget to give him a straw, they also forgot the bacon in his chicken burger!

Russ was NOT pleased.

‘Look at that! Where’s the f*****g bacon?!’ he exclaimed while showing the camera a very much bacon-less burger.

He added: ‘Man, why do I keep going back here?!’

A spokesperson for McDonald's Australia confirmed this news to a major news source, saying: ‘McDonald’s Australia has recently moved to Sprite No Sugar across its restaurants nationwide.’

They also added: ‘We look forward to hearing customer feedback on the new beverage option.’

Well, Macca’s need not look far for the feedback because Russ’ video has over a thousand of them!

Some were not a fan of the move.

One user wrote: ‘Switching to Hungry Jack’s now.’

‘McDonald’s Sprite was the best drink,’ said another.

Others couldn’t have cared less about regular Sprite’s Macca’s farewell.

‘No sugar Sprite is 100 times better anyway,’ said one user.

More than one person also asked why Macca’s couldn’t have just kept both Sprite options, which is a fair question we hope they address.

And this one comment really just leaves us with more questions: ‘(Sprite Zero Sugar) tastes like how the swimming pool locker rooms smell.’ What?

Russ’ post has almost 300,000 views on TikTok and 28,000 hearts (likes).

Macca’s isn’t the only fast food chain Russ had some choice reviews for. In another recent TikTok post, he took aim at KFC’s limited-time offer ‘The Slab’.

‘The Slab’ is described by KFC as ‘not a sandwich’, but rather a slab of popcorn chicken slathered with cheese and barbecue sauce, then served on dinner rolls.

For his review, Russ ordered a large-sized ‘The Slab’ meal, and thus the verbal carnage began.

‘The consistency of the dinner rolls is f*****g piss weak,’ he said, pointing out that all he got when he pinched a roll was one piece of chicken popcorn.

He then ate roll after roll, and by the end, he was so full he was telling everyone NOT to order a large-size for the meal.

‘The first (roll) was awesome, it was loaded, I was like “This is pretty good”, like 8 out of 10, but towards the end… I have to give a 5 out of 10.’

‘A Zinger Stacker absolutely s****s on this.’

KFC Australia is also giving lefties some special attention — but for a limited time only, so read if you don’t want to miss out.

We don’t know about you, but we are left really craving some fast food after all of this…

In the meantime, what do you think of Macca’s pulling out regular-flavoured Sprite in its stores? Is it a dealbreaker for you? Or is it the kind of thing you could brush off?

Maccas should get rid of Coca Cola its so not good for you. Also Zero sugar Sprite is worse for you than regular sprite. There is an artificial sweetener in zero Sprite that can cause cancer, so bring back regular Sprite real sugar in moderation is fine as long as you clean your teeth and dont drink it every day.

Agree! zero sugar Sprite is worse than regular!!! Maccas should think more carefully about what they do! Never go there anyway and this is just another reason why!!!
