Credit cards when you are retired

I'm currently trying to get a credit card and having no luck as I am retired and my only income is a Super pension (which for the purposes of applying for a cc is not considered to be income).
I have provided a Super statement & screen shots of my pension payments & current balances but to no avail.
Ideally I would like one which doesn't have an annual fee as it is for emergencies really.
I currently I have a secondary card on my partner's card but want to get my own - it's forward planning. Don't want to be left alone without a credit card.
Has anyone out there managed to apply successfully? I would appreiate any advice you can offer.
Thanks 😊

Finally success!
Was declined twice by Coles Mastercard but had my case escalated & my application was approved.
It paid to be persistant and explain my situation.
