A DIY enthusiast from Sydney has managed to give her bathroom area a sleek and modern makeover using only a few budget buys from Bunnings.
Erin, who goes by the username @plantshappen on TikTok, shared that she has always wanted to 'modernise' her outdated bathroom. But since her budget was a little tight, she opted to go for the DIY route instead.
Erin shared her process on TikTok, as well as the before and after photos which left a lot of her viewers shocked and amazed.
Here are the products she used:
- Rust-Oleum Primer and Paint Spray
- Duct tape
- Ajax spray
- Kleenex wipes
- Cardboard

And if you're looking to 'modernise' your bathroom as well, here's how she did it:
First, spray Ajax cleaner on the glass and metal frame of the shower to completely clean it before painting.
Wipe the frame down with a Kleenex to prepare it for painting, then pat the area dry with a clean towel.
To protect surrounding areas from getting accidentally spray-painted, stick duct (i.e. heavy-duty sticky) tape around the frame edges and attach rectangular cardboard pieces to the shower panels. The shower frames should be the only exposed area left.
Before you use the spray paint, remember to wear protective gear, folks!
Spray the black matte paint directly onto the metal frame and allow the paint to dry. If you accidentally get some paint on the wall (just like Erin), you can just use nail polish remover to clean it off.
Peel the cardboard panels and duct tape from the frame and voila! You now have yourself a modern-looking shower without having to spend hundreds for a renovation!
Erin's video on TikTok has managed to gain over 230,000 views, with hundreds of viewers commenting that they were impressed by the amazing result!
"I LOVEEEEEE THIS," wrote one woman in the comments, while another agreed and added: "Wow! The black looks terrific."
Some users also questioned whether this paint would last in a moisture-rich area like the bathroom, and one woman responded by saying: "I did this with mine and 1.5 years later it is still looking super fresh!"
Does your bathroom need a modern makeover as well, folks? Then we suggest heading over to Bunnings now!
