Couple slammed for ‘weird’ wedding gimmick - you won’t believe what they did!

Quick, name three things you’d expect to find at a wedding!
Most of you would probably say things like flowers, chairs, lights, and rings… but would you ever think of a… coffin?
Well, for one groom and his bride, yes!
A video is making the rounds on the social networking site TikTok, and it features a wedding ceremony on the stranger side of things…
In a post, uploaded by a user with the caption: ‘Is this a funeral? No, this is how my friend decided to walk down the aisle’, an entourage can be seen unloading something from a car.
After successfully taking the mystery item out, they walked slowly towards where the wedding guests were.
As they neared, it can be seen more clearly that the ‘thing’ is a coffin!
Onlookers could be seen eyeing the coffin with some surprised looks.
The entourage eventually made it to where the altar is, and lowered the coffin to the ground.
Next, some in the group stood in front of the coffin while others opened it to give the occupant a hand in getting up.
And ta-da! The groom, clad in a white suit, came out of the coffin.
Shortly after, the clip ends.
Er, is anyone else unsure of what to say at this point… kidding!
As is the nature of things on social media, the post quickly went viral with almost five million views and thousands of reactions… but probably for all the wrong reasons, if the comments are anything to go by.
You see, many people didn’t appreciate the odd gimmick the groom pulled at his wedding.
‘Is he trying to say his life is over now?’ a user asked in confusion.
Many also said they would have felt ‘embarrassed’ at everything going on.
‘I’d be at the bar already drinking and trying to figure out how to make different friends,’ said one user.
One eagle-eyed viewer didn’t miss the looks on the faces of the entourage and pointed out: ‘The ones carrying are so embarrassed.’
True enough, one member could be caught shaking his head — but whether in embarrassment or otherwise, we leave it up to you.
‘I would have gone home,’ another user said.
Others though were just plain dumbfounded.
‘My question is: why?’ another user said.
We also have to credit some users who spotted a message the groom might have been trying to say.
A user shared: ‘I actually thought this was kinda cute. I interpret it as like “I was dead before I met you” or “my life didn’t truly start until I met you”.’
Hmmm… well, that is really sweet, if that is the case!
Sadly, not much context is available as to what exactly the groom meant by his rather grim entrance to his wedding.
We can only hope that the bride was in on the whole thing for his sake, or he might find that his short-lived marriage will be the next thing inside the casket!
Speaking of wacky wedding activities, you might find this story of a groom who sent another man to his own wedding interesting, or this bride’s x-rated blunder on her invitations that had many in stitches.
So, how did you find the entrance of the groom at this wedding? Is it something you appreciated, or do you find the whole thing to be in bad taste?
