Country beef ‘dump’ dinner

I love one pan dishes and this one is a one pot dinner

If you're wondering about the name of this recipe, just look at the method and it will all make sense. There is only one step and it involves you dumping all the ingredients in the slow cooker and forgetting about it until dinner time. In terms of the flavour, we are talking good old-fashioned beef casserole - a perfect winter warmer.

Recipe by Taste

Ingredients​

  • 1kg gravy beef or chuck steak cut into chunks
  • 2 tbsp gravox
  • 1 tbsp plain flour
  • 500g baby potatoes, halved
  • 200g button mushrooms, halve
  • ( optional)
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 6 shallots, halved
  • 125ml (1/2cup) Beef Liquid Stock
  • 400g can chopped tomatoes
  • 225g jar tomato chutney

Method​

Step 1
In a bowl ,Toss beef in gravox and plain flour

Step 2
In the bowl of a slow cooker. Add beef. Arrange potato, mushroom, carrot and shallot over beef. Pour over stock, tomatoes and chutney. Cook on HIGH for 8 hours or until the beef is tender. Serve with steamed green vegetables, if desired.

Note

If you don't have a slow cooker the do all steps the same but using an oven pan. Cover tightly with 2 layers of foil and lid, and cook in slow oven 120°C for 8 hours
