Could Chris Lilley be teasing the return of a beloved character? Fans are losing it!

Chris Lilley has stirred up a storm on social media, leaving fans speculating about the return of one of his most iconic characters.

With just a few cryptic posts, the comedian has fans buzzing and eagerly awaiting confirmation.

But what’s really going on behind the scenes? Let’s take a closer look at the mystery unfolding online.

Chris Lilley stirred excitement among fans after posting two cryptic videos on his social media accounts, leaving them buzzing with speculation.

The short videos featured a large pink fit ball and a distinctive figure dancing across the screen, which fans quickly recognised.

Many immediately guessed that the figure was none other than Mr G, the drama teacher he portrayed in the beloved 2007 series Summer Heights High.

Fans went wild in the comments, asking Lilley to confirm if the character was truly making a comeback.

‘Oh my god you’re literally kidding please tell me this isn’t a prank,’ one fan commented.

‘Welcome back to Mr G’s room???? Please,’ another fan begged.

‘I can’t believe I’ve waited over 15 years for this and it’s REALLY HAPPENING,’ another wrote in disbelief.

This all comes after Lilley has remained mostly absent from the public eye for five years, following his last project, the 2019 Netflix series Lunatics.

In 2020, Netflix pulled several of Lilley’s earlier shows from the platform amid controversy over his portrayal of characters from various racial backgrounds.

These included Asian theatre buff Ricky Wong, African-American rapper S.Mouse, and Tongan student Jonah Takalua.

As the controversy grew, Lilley shifted focus to podcasting, releasing shows as characters Jana Melhoopen-Jonks in Jana’s Yard (2020) and Ja’mie King in Ja’miezing (2021).

Now, the recent videos have sparked speculation that Mr G might be returning—possibly even as a podcast host.

The teaser clips also featured an office chair, which many fans took as a hint that Lilley’s infamous teacher could be making a new appearance in the world of podcasting.
