Con the Fruiterer​

Who remembers the ever-hilarious Con the Fruiterer from The Comedy Company? Mark Mitchell created the character after he was served by Greek Australian stallholders in 1984. Con became a national sensation, leaving an indelible mark on television history. And who can forget those catchphrases like ‘coupla days’, ‘bewdiful’, and ‘doesn't madda’? I saw him many years ago at a Greek festival on the Gold Coast. Apparently many people didn't realise he was an actor and actually thought he was a Greek....

Now that was funny - much better than the rude & mostly unfunny crap that is around these days (mrs browns boys/billy connolly excluded). They should bring back the comedy club it was a very good show. Hey Hey it's saturday too - Both in their original formats - too hell with political correctness - these shows were perfect as they were and they'd still beat the pants off the crap the TV is full of now.
