Con the Fruiterer

Who remembers the ever-hilarious Con the Fruiterer from The Comedy Company? Mark Mitchell created the character after he was served by Greek Australian stallholders in 1984. Con became a national sensation, leaving an indelible mark on television history. And who can forget those catchphrases like ‘coupla days’, ‘bewdiful’, and ‘doesn't madda’? Ah, the comedies of yesteryear were so funny! No swearing, just good humour and great characters. What are your favourite memories of this character? Tell us here.

I saw him many years ago at a Greek festival on the Gold Coast. Apparently many people didn't realise he was an actor and actually thought he was a Greek.... :ROFLMAO:

Now that was funny - much better than the rude & mostly unfunny crap that is around these days (mrs browns boys/billy connolly excluded). They should bring back the comedy club it was a very good show. Hey Hey it's saturday too - Both in their original formats - too hell with political correctness - these shows were perfect as they were and they'd still beat the pants off the crap the TV is full of now.

I loved con the fruiterer he was so funny!
