Computer Scam.

I recently warned our members about a Scam that I got caught up in. I mentioned my love of photography and how I use FB to view and display my photo’s. In my warning I mentioned that I clicked on a photo on FB to see what the reported Photographer was amazed to see, then the trouble started. If you see the attached photo come up on your screen, PLEASE do not click on the photo, this is what I did and I suffered for it.DELETE it immediatley. If I want to look at a photo on line now I take a desk top photo and enlarge that. Take care.

It looks like some sort of k9 sorry you got duped now that people can alter images with the help of AI they can make any image look real.

I've spotted this a few times and just thought of it as being a "click bait" something to get you to click, so I just ignored it

I also saw it on Facebook but never had the time to mess around with it. Thank you so much for the warning it seemed quite a genuine picture.

I think I've clicked on that photo, and others on FB. Lots of alarming bells and whistles ring out and an alarming pop up says your device has been infected by a dangerous virus. The pop up says to call Microsoft(?) on the given phone number in order to get it removed. The phone number is that of scammers who will probably demand payment and access to your PC.
I'm not an expert but I think the best thing to do is to ignore the warnings, unplug your modem and switch off your PC immediately for a minute or two, reconnect and re-boot your PC. Then run a virus/health check before continuing. That worked for me.
DO NOT CALL THAT PHONE NUMBER.
