‘It honestly turned me and my partner's stomach especially not knowing what it is,’ she told shared.
She explained that the lime juice hadn’t yet expired—it was due in December—and she had finished the bottle within two weeks, well within the recommended six-week window.
Naomi said she felt ‘disgusted’ by the experience and has sworn off limes for the foreseeable future.

A spokesperson shared that the supermarket was in the process of transitioning its lime juice packaging from opaque bottles to transparent ones.
‘At Coles, we take pride in providing our customers with great quality and value everyday. If a product doesn’t meet our customers' expectations, we encourage them to bring it back into store so we can provide a refund or replacement,’ the spokesperson said.
‘We have transitioned the packaging of our Coles Lemon Juice 250mL and 500mL from opaque bottles to transparent bottles, making them kerbside recyclable.’
‘At Coles, we are committed to reducing unnecessary and problematic plastic in our packaging, with more initiatives to follow including the transition of Coles Lime Juice 250mL to transparent bottles that are kerbside recyclable in the coming weeks.’
