Cleaning expert reveals SECRET to dust-free blinds in only a few minutes!

Cleaning blinds can consume an extraordinary amount of time. Trying to get in the nooks and crannies of every single blind slat should be nominated for the ‘most annoying chore of the century’ award.
Thankfully, one professional cleaner, Allison, shared a clever trick that cuts half the time one would typically spend on getting their blinds spotless.

"You guys know that I'm a proponent for working smarter not harder, let me show you one of the many ways I apply that when cleaning my clients' houses,” she can be heard saying in her TikTok video, demonstrating the hack.
For blind and cabinet cleaning, Alison uses Gain power blast dish spray (a squirt of dishwashing detergent would also work as an alternative) and some hot water in a mop bucket. She picks up a sanitised, mop head and gets to work.
"Now this is part of the working smarter not harder– this mop-head has never touched the floor a day in its life, this mop-head is strictly for blinds and cabinets. You heard me right– blinds and cabinets only. I have many different mop-heads for many different uses," the professional cleaner explained.
"Don't knock it 'til you try it, especially with blinds. It's able to push the blinds up, you can go up and down, side to side– it really gets in there and gives it a great clean. Plus with the Gain power blast or any mild soap, it does an incredible job cleaning."
The type of mop that Alison uses varies depending on the type of blinds that her clients have. For shutters, she reaches out for an easy squeeze mop but she prefers to work with an o-cedar mop when dealing with Venetian blinds.
While you may still have to go through each blind slat, using a mop still cuts down the time it takes clean the slats when compared to only wiping each by hand – and given the long rod of a mop, you might not need to hop on a step-ladder or a stool just to reach the top of the blinds either!
"Using the mop is about as close to a cleaning hack as you can get. It takes half the time, and as you can see does an incredible job, it gets all the nooks and crannies, doesn't leave anything behind, and you're able to push the mop up and get the whole blind," Allison said.
After leaving her client’s kitchen blinds gleaming, Allisson then proceeds to the cupboards. She vacuums and dusts them before using the mop again to give them a thorough wash.

Allison’s TikTok video garnered over 154.8k views and 15.5k likes, with users flocking to the comments to share their approval of the mop hack.
“OMG! YES, I'm a housekeeper and I thank you profusely for this trick.” one person said.
“Blinds are my nemesis so I’m definitely trying this.” added another.
“Cleaning the blinds with a mop– my mind is blown. Thank you!” a third commented.
While a fourth suggested: “Another great way to clean your blinds is to pull them down completely soak them in the tub with OxiClean, works great too!”
