Christmas Memory 1973
It was the year 1973 and on December the 17th my wife Pam gave birth to our youngest son Richard in Hornsby hospital in NSW. Richard was our 4th and final child and as Ten Pound Poms he was our one and only contribution to the Australian population growth. I visited my wife the next day and I had prepared a notice that I planned to put on the baby observation window and it stated "Wishing all of our BREEDERS a very merry Christmas' needless to say my wife was not amused at my warped sense of humour. When I picked up Pam and the new baby Richard just before Christmas Eve we were invited to spend Christmas lunch with an Australian couple named Heather and Sid Graves and their large family who lived in Somerville road, Hornsby Heights. This couple were 5th generation Aussies and they treated us newcomers as though we were family. Heather was a lovely lady whom a few years before had won a car on the Sale of the century TV show. That was a Christmas we shall never forget even though we now live in Busselton in WA. Happy Birthday Richard we all love you very much and hope you enjoy a wonderful day.
