Christmas just got a lot merrier! Bunnings releases 200 new products for its 2022 holiday range

We know, we know… It’s a little too early to be thinking about the holidays… Or is it? It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in some of the biggest retailers across the country and we can’t help but feel the festive spirit.

Coles and ALDI have already given us a sneak peek at their latest Christmas range in the lead-up to the festive season – and Bunnings has made it clear that they won’t be left behind!

After seeing over 4500 searches for Christmas-themed items this week alone, the hardware giant has released 200 new items for its 2022 Christmas range – including a standout LED shark that has left shoppers buzzing. (Those googly eyes have us giggling!)

So if you're the type who prefers to get a head start on your Christmas shopping (or you're just looking for some early holiday inspiration), then read on.

The standout item that has captured the attention of Aussies is the Lytworx 105cm LED Solar Glitter Shark, which is a one-of-a-kind outdoor Christmas decor that your grandkids will surely love. It’s an animated shark with a stack of presents on its back, retailing for $169. How Aussie is that?

Bunnings National Outdoor Lighting Buyer Rebecca Hevey said that the retailer expects customers to go big with their decorating this festive season.

‘With people finally being able to enjoy bigger get-togethers and more celebrations with friends and family, we’re already seeing an early rush on our festive range as customers get organised and start stocking up on all their decorations in preparation for the busiest and best time of the year.’ she said.

Ms Hevey added that inflatables, solar options such as stake and fairy lights, as well as nutcracker figures will be making the rounds.

‘For the Christmas fanatics who love going all out with their decorating, we’ve got some really fun new designs to create a wow factor this year, including some iconic Aussie additions like an inflatable BBQ Santa, koala stake lights, and a festive Melbourne tram.’ she continued.

The inflatables are made from PVC. In Australia as a whole, we don't recycle PVC as yet. Those massive inflatables, when discarded, end up at the Council Tip. Please spare a thought for that. Bunnings should be more responsible in selling these products. They are only made for aesthetic purposes, what a waste of oxygen that we need.

We desperately need to reduce our reliance on plastics. Think about the amount of Global plastic pollution.
Scientists are finding microplastics in our food, water, soil, and blood. And the resulting pollution in producing these plastic products are made in China, them being a major environmental polluter next to America.
