Christian the lion

In 1962, two Australian travellers, Ace Bourke and John Rendall, came across a lonely lion cub that was cramped in a cage, and decided to bring him back home. But as he grew too big, they had no choice but to return him to the wild in Kenya. Forty years later, their paths crossed again… And you can watch the exact moment below:

I remember when this story was firstly written up in newspapers and magazines then had the joy of seeing the reunion on tv. You are right.. very emotionable. XXX. My eldest son was born about the same time..June 1962

An amazing story. Love knows no bounds ❤️
When I was two my uncle came home with a German Shepherd puppy over the next few years we became best friends. He would lay down so I could get on his back and he would take me for rides.
If I wondered out the gate he would chase after me and bring me home.

When I started school he would walk me to school then he would go straight home. He was my best friend.

Then when I was maybe 8 We came home to find that my grandfather gave him away . That was probably the only thing my grandfather did to ever make me angry.

Weeks later my uncle managed to track the new owners down only to find out my best friend Pal had died. They said he would eat, he cried constantly and said he died of a broken heart 💔

people can be so cruel. One Christmas Day my father came into my bedroom and put a huge windup spider down in front of my kitten. Poor little Tiddles shot through the house, through a hole in the fence in to the cemetery and the dairy and we never saw her again. The only pet we were allowed years later was a magpie. Suzanne I really feel for you.

My grandfather wanted his garden back. My uncle had even offered to build a fence around the garden. I cried for weeks which was why my uncle tried to find him. My uncle only told me just before he died 18 months ago how my dog died from a broken heart
