Chook house
Remember when almost every backyard in Australia had a chook house? It was usually just some wire netting strung between the dunny and the back fence. Our fathers built a small roosting coop where hens slept and laid eggs, which we would collect every day before school. And when the hens stopped laying, they were transformed into a sumptuous Sunday lunch. Those were the days.
