Chocolate Cherry Balls

These are so easy and taste like a cherry ripe.

These wrapped in celo bags with a ribbon makes beautiful little gifts.

Makes 35

Ingredients

125g butter
2 cups icing sugar
1/4 cup thickened cream
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
2 cups coconut
Couple drops pink food colouring
185g dark chocolate

Method

1. Melt butter in a saucepan until it is a deep golden brown, remove from heat.
2. Stir in sifted icing sugar, cream,vanilla and coconut. Tint with a couple of drops of food colouring.
3. Roll teaspoonfuls of mixture into balls and place on trays.
4. Melt chocolate over hot water. Place a tooth pick into each ball and dip into chocolate. Place onto baking paper lined trays and refrigerate until firm

Hi Suzanne. Nice recipe, but two cups of icing sugar is toooooooo much sugar. But for those younger people, who are more active and may not care too much about their sugar intake, well, this will be a lovely dessert for them. Thankyou Suzanne. Have a lovely day. 🙏🦋

It's actually not too much icing sugar when you see it makes 35.
These are a treat and not something I'm saying to make every day. Icing sugar isn't as bad as sugar .

I reward myself with ny favourite indulgent which is chocolate.
And I eat no other fatty foods 😋

It is actually less than 7g per ball. Pretty good recipe for a TREAT.🥰

Good evening dear Suzanne, icing sugar is very finely ground sugar with a bit of corn starch. It is actually comprised of sugar with a different texture. Those with type 1 diabetes may not feel too safe taking on board these tempting Chocolate Cherry Bslls. But for those who can take accept icing sugar in their diet, enjoy with hsppiness. There are no cherries in this. The coconut ,chocolate and colouring gives the same affect as cherry ripe. The red colour represents cherry
In cherry ripe it has glaced cherries which I hate and actually adds no flavour.
If you want to add some chopped glaced cherries you can. Add around 1/4 of a cup finely chopped

I only post recipes how myself, my family and friends like.
I try every recipe before posting and only the ones we love.

Also I often change recipes

I make a lot of different Truffles for Christmas and give them to family & friends.
