Chocolate ‘hack’ wows millions – ‘You’re telling me I’ve been struggling for years?’

It’s always frustrating when you’re indulging in a box of chocolate and each time you reach for a piece, you struggle with getting them out of the packaging.

And if you’ve had a box of Toffifee before, you know exactly what we mean by this. It always feels like a hassle just trying to get a piece out of the delicate tray. It ruins the momentum, doesn’t it?

But one woman has discovered a clever way to get around this problem – and it's so simple, we wish we thought of this sooner!

The hack was originally discovered by a TikTok user called zosafunika, who happened upon it while tucking into some Toffifee – a German caramel chocolate from ALDI.

But rather than crushing the delicate tray that holds the chocolates securely in place (like we all usually do), she noticed that the panels on either side can actually be used to ‘pop’ out the sweets without getting chocolate under your fingernails.

This makes it easier to dig into the sweet treats, rather than trying to dig out the pieces and crushing some of them.

In the clip posted on the social media platform, the woman demonstrated that by pressing down on the panels on either side of the chocolate, the chocolates will ‘pop’ out of the tray.

‘When you realise how it works,’ the woman said in the video.

The clip went viral and now has over 6 million views. Social media users who stumbled across her video were impressed at the woman’s simple hack, and hundreds flocked to the comments section to discuss their new discovery.

‘Excuse me, what?’ One shocked user wrote.

‘The amount of caramel under my fingernails I could’ve avoided,’ lamented another.

A separate user responded to this and said: ‘I just flip the tray over and have a Toffifee time.’

‘You’re telling me I’ve been struggling to get them out for years and this is how it’s supposed to be done?’ Wrote another.

‘I was today years old,’ someone else commented.

Another TikTok user shared that in the number of times they’ve had the treat, they’ve never realised this ‘hack’.

‘I have learned to just dump them in a bowl lol cause once I eat one, it’s guaranteed I’m eating the whole box in one sitting,’ a third admitted.

Others joked that half the experience of eating a box of Toffifee is the struggle to get them out. ‘It makes the satisfaction of finally eating them better,’ they added.

One revealed that they just turn it over and ‘smack them’ into their hands a few times instead.
