Cheesy Meatballs Casserole

Ingredients:
500g ground turkey
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
1/4 cup grated or shredded parmesa
1 egg
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon fresh minced garlic
1/4teaspoon Italian seasoning blend
1/4 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper
1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper, optional
1/4 teaspoon crushed red chilli pepper flakes, optional
1/2 cup of Napolitana sauce / Passata
1/2 cup shredded cheese of your choice for topping (Mozzarella, Provolone, Monterrey Jack, or Cheddar)
Fresh basil or parsley for topping
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees celsius.
2. In a bowl, mix together ground turkey, mozzarella, parmesan, egg, onion powder, garlic, Italian seasoning, Cayenne pepper, and crushed red chilli pepper flakes.
3. Scoop the mixture into small balls and place them in a casserole dish.
4. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until cooked.
5. Remove from the oven and drain grease. Top with Napolitana sauce / Passata and shredded cheese and put the meatballs casserole back in the oven. Bake for another 5 to 10 minutes until the cheese has fully melted.
6. Top with fresh basil or parsley and serve.
To make this dish extra special, try serving it with a side of mashed potatoes over a bed of rice or zucchini noodles.
