Chalkboard dusters

I remember having a duster to the face after lifting my head at the wrong time. Teacher was aiming at the boy behind me. 🤦‍♀️

Ouch!!! I recall the dusters and chalk board. The screeeeeching sound of chalk! We had a points system written up on the board for our houses. I was in green house and our house had all the fastest runners on sports days - including me! The boys nick named me Ernie Emu, which I hated being a girl! A small 2 teacher school in Northern NSW bush with many flies during Summer and cold frosty Winter mornings! I loved the musical activities, spelling, reading, comprehension and social studies. Lots of fun games of skipping rope, chasey, red rover, dog and bone and softball, tennis, cricket and footy. A close knit community with the Mum's baking the best cakes I have ever tasted! Simple and care free times in the late 60s and early 70s.. great memories to cherish!
