Cement Crafts

Have you noticed that the cost of pots for your Garden are up there with every thing so make your own as well as figurines. Bag of ready mix cement, spray can of ordinary cooking oil, and moulds,
You're moulds can be made of thick cardboard wood, old glass ware plastic pots, or even silicone cooking moulds.
Mix cement till it's like a bater consistency, pouring into moulds sprayed with the oil so you'll be able to remove it when dry 3 days minimum.

I've taken to using cement to make outdoor pieces too.
I do find that often the cement dries in the bag before I can use it, so I now try to buy just before I intend to make an item.
I've even taken to using cardboard boxes and ripped up strips of newspaper (in a plaster of paris style of covering an item) to get a sturdy box. Eg I needed a toilet paper holder for beside my toilet and only had one that would fit the old single-style toilet rolls. I wanted this one to fit double rolls (or even triple length rolls) so set out to make my own.
There are some great ideas on YouTube for making large pieces using cardboard- such as making rocks or giant Easter Island heads. It's a great way to make something lightweight but usable for the garden.

I have to ask. How do you shape your moulds? I brought some pieces for the front yard but when they turned up, they were so tiny that unless you were standing right by them, you couldn't see what they were. I like to do fancy Halloween and Christmas solar light displays.
