Can't open your Zooper Dooper? This genius hack will change your life!

Summer may have come and gone, but no matter what the weather is like, we reckon it's always a good time to enjoy a Zooper Dooper!

These frozen treats are some of our favourites because they come in a wide variety of flavours, making them suitable for any occasion. You can choose from: Orange, Pineapple, Lime, Bubblegum, Raspberry, Cola, Fairyfloss and Blackcurrant. (Which one is your favourite, members? We’re quite partial to Cola ourselves.)

But, as much as we adore these brightly coloured treats, we must admit that they can be difficult to open at times. Because we don’t always have scissors or a knife nearby, we’re a little ashamed to admit that on occasion we’ve had to bite through the plastic just to tear them open. It's quite the ordeal!

Thankfully, a mum-of-two from the US is here to share a surprisingly simple trick that opens a Zooper Dooper in seconds without using scissors or any tools. (As an aside, today we learned that the popular Australian made treats are beloved in other countries, too!)

To open her Zooper Doopers, Shelby Brazell simply breaks them in half. Credit: TikTok.

In a video she posted on TikTok, Shelby Brazell said that she first discovered the hack because she had a hard time locating a pair of scissors.

"I'm not sure if you're like me and can never find scissors in your house," she said in the clip. “As a mum, I try to find anything that makes my life easier. And who knows, maybe this is why they're called popsicles!"

Then she proceeded to demonstrate how to quickly open a Zooper Dooper with ease. While holding the popsicle, er, we mean ice block, from both ends, she quickly snapped it in half like you would a breadstick.

Now her frozen treat is all ready for eating, it's that easy!

Since it was posted, her TikTok has received more than 2.7 million views and almost 10,000 comments in a little over a week's time, with many users revealing that they, too, are having trouble with opening the frozen treats.

However, most of them were saying that the "hack" didn't work for them.

"I tried this and my white shirt is now pink," said one man in the comments. "It spilled everywhere!"

A second user agreed and wrote, "Doesn't work for me either. The wrapping only tore slightly and now it's leaking onto my floor."

Due to insistent demand, with several of her followers asking Shelby to "help them", the mum decided to make another video with an additional tip.

"I've seen lots of people try to bend it, but that doesn't work!" she pointed out. "You just have to crack it in half, really quickly."

And after watching the second video, many people finally got the method right.

"I just tried it and didn't expect it to work… but it did!" said one woman. "And so easy as well."

Another one commented and called this the "perfect" hack, even saying that her post-lunch snack is now secured.

You heard it here first, folks! Next time you need to open a Zooper Dooper, don't bend them – crack them open!
