Can you recognise this star from The Holiday film after 17 years?
If you’re a fan of holiday movies like we are at the SDC, you’ve probably watched the beloved Christmas film, The Holiday!
It starred Cameron Diaz, Jared Leto, Kate Winslet, and Jude Law and has been watched over and over by people of all ages all around the world.
But do you remember the young girl who played Jude Law’s daughter, Sophie?
Seventeen years have passed since the movie’s 2006 release, and Miffy Englefield—who was just six at the time—has returned to recreate her scenes from the iconic rom-com.
This time, however, Miffy was with a new company. Now 24, she’s a mum herself to a daughter named Frankie, who was born in April 2020.
With help from HomeExchange.com, Miffy and her family stayed in a converted Tudor barn in East Sussex for a few days.
As part of her outdoor activities, Miffy could ‘relive’ the movie by picking berries from the garden and visiting a farm shop in the local town.
Miffy shared her experience by posting two videos online, and her fans couldn’t believe how different she looked—and even more so that her stay was very similar to what was featured in the movie!
‘I didn't realise it was you in The Holiday. I love that film and have always wanted to do a home exchange,’ one wrote.
‘It's almost like a perfect recreation of the film!’ another said.
‘You must have been one of the adorable little girls, I suppose,’ a third person added.
Speaking of her unique experience, Miffy said: ‘It was amazing being in it.’
‘Every time it is on telly–-and it is a lot—I crack up. It’s on Netflix now too.’
When asked about the cast, she said: ‘Everyone was so sweet, kind and down-to-earth. I didn’t know who Cameron and Jude were because I was six.’
‘But I did know who Jack was because my dad was really into alternative music, and I liked [his band] Tenacious D.’
‘The first time I met him, I bounded up to him and said, “I love your music”. He was like, “That is ridiculous, you are six years old”.’
