Can’t sleep? Here are some tips for getting a good night’s rest

Sleeping* helps speed up cell turnover in our bodies, making us feel refreshed and rejuvenated the following day. It also regulates our appetite and metabolism. Meanwhile, frequent lack of sleep, on the other hand, can be detrimental to your health*.

This is why doctors recommend a consistent eight hours of sleep* for the body to reap the benefits of sleep.

So, if you’re having trouble getting a good night’s sleep regularly, here are some tips you can try to improve your sleep quality and help you sleep faster.

Holistic Approach to Sleep

Consult with a sleep specialist, such as Emma Sleep’s sleep experts*, who can help you cultivate a holistic approach to sleep. They also consider the overall condition of a person before making suggestions to improve your sleep quality*, so you know you’re in good hands!

Not only does this approach help you get a good night’s sleep*, but it also restores you to optimal health by accounting for your specific mental, physical, and emotional needs and correcting imbalances in your habits* and lifestyle choices.

Through integrative sleep medicine, sleep specialists can also determine how to manage your sleeping problems* precisely.

Mind Your Caffeine Intake

Caffeine, a stimulant that helps people keep alert throughout the day, is found in beverages such as coffee, tea, and soft drinks.

Studies show that once caffeine is in our bloodstream, it will take about four to six hours before the effects wear off. Thus, experts* do not recommend drinking caffeinated drinks before bed, which will ruin your sleep cycle.

So, if you need something to help you fall asleep*, try drinking chamomile tea. Chamomile tea is considered a sleep inducer or mild tranquilliser. Drink this at least 30 minutes before sleeping* to maximise its benefits.

Let Go of Your Gadgets Before Bedtime

Let’s be honest: The purpose of going to bed is to sleep* and not scroll through the news or social media apps on your phone.

Gadgets release blue light that can keep you awake, altering your sleeping schedule* if you’re not careful.

Switch off your devices an hour or two before sleeping. If you cannot sleep, try to do something that relaxes your mind, such as reading a book, listening to soft music, or meditating while in your soft bed*.

Reduce Stress

Stress is usually a common cause of sleep problems*. Reduce stress levels by incorporating a calming routine aside from turning off your digital devices.

For one, expose yourself more to bright light during the morning. Studies show that exposure to bright light can help you sleep better at night and reduce stress* and anxiety.

Track Your Sleep Cycle and Habits With a Sleep Journal

A sleep journal is a daily record of how you sleep at night*. Sleep specialists usually require their patients to write in a sleep journal to keep track of their sleeping problems, such as insomnia. Doing so helps in determining the cause and fixing those problems*.

So, when tracking your sleep* using a sleep journal, be sure to include all of the details necessary. These should include how you got to bed, how and when you fell asleep*, and if you woke up in the middle of the night, among other details.

Well once again, all that is got is blatant promises from Aero Albo and from Territory Pollies.

The comments about setting up more controlling systems for youth is very good but again all that is done is making comments and suggestions.

A stronger action by the police – more security patrolling etc is required.

More actual punishments for any that are caught, make them well aware that their time will be restricted 100% by law actions.

More security patrols to be set up!!

A stronger action by parents is also required!!!

One suggestion is to contact the police in Perth to find out what they did to improve the area of Northbridge – major youth problems there a few years ago.

Cheers

Your comment is closely related to that of a newly discovered asteroid, designated FTW-6969, orbiting inside that of Mars. NASA reports that the asteroid poses no threat to Earth whatsoever and is expected not to do so for many millennia, if at all.
