A man recently appeared on the Kyle and Jackie O show to tell a highly personal story that he had been holding in for the past 20 years – and it made the famous radio duo shudder.
It takes a lot of guts to come clean about a secret. It takes even more courage to confess it while live on air.
The man, Michael, decided to come forward and tell his best mate, John, something that would change their relationship forever. Speaking to radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O., the 42-year-old set the scene and said the event happened during his friend’s 21st birthday.
‘I remember it clearly. It was at the end of the party, and everything had simmered down,’ he said.
Then, he revealed that he and John’s mum were the last two standing in the aftermath of the birthday party.
‘The father wasn't around, and my friend went to his room with his girlfriend and fell asleep,’ he said.
Michael claimed that one thing led to another, and he ended up having sex with John’s mum in the middle of the lounge room.
To make matters worse, the pair decided that this wouldn’t be a ‘one-time thing’ and started seeing each other casually ‘for months’ after realising that they were both very comfortable with each other.
‘She was definitely more experienced and taught me a few things,’ Michael admitted.
Twenty years later, Michael claimed that he no longer spoke to his best mate’s mum and wanted to come clean to his friend ‘out of respect’.
Kyle and Jackie O intervened and asked if Michael had an idea about how John would react. Michael said: ‘I have no idea. He might brush it off, or he might be [upset]. I doubt he already knows.’
Kyle tried to convince Michael to keep it a secret from his mate and said that John would be ‘devastated’ to hear about his mum having an affair with one of his friends.
‘No one wants to picture their mum with their legs up,' Kyle commented.
Still, Michael insisted he ‘felt bad’ about lying to his friend for twenty years and wanted to tell the truth.
‘John, I've thought about telling you this for 20 years, but I've always backed out,’ Michael started.
He got straight to the point as the radio hosts sat uncomfortably and watched the confession from the sidelines.
‘I slept with your mum.’
Naturally, John was shocked and found it hard to respond to the admission. Then, he admitted to sweating profusely before saying, ‘What the f**k do you mean?’
John added: ‘You f***ed my mum? You’re joking. Everyone makes mistakes, but this is big.’
Kyle then stepped in and revealed that it wasn’t just a one-time affair but a casual relationship that lasted for a while.
‘It's true. I would go over when I knew you weren't home,’ Michael admitted.
John replied: ‘I don't know what to say, you've thrown away our friendship. I don't know how I'm ever going to look at my mother the same.’
John added that he had nothing left to say to Michael and was upset at the revelation.
‘I don’t know how you can be my friend and know you did that to me behind my back,’ he continued before revealing that he was also upset with his mum and would not be speaking to her for the foreseeable future.
Once the two friends (or ex-friends?) were off the air, Kyle expressed his regret at having been a part of that conversation.
‘I didn't like that at all. I regret being a part of it. I normally relish in this, but it made me feel uncomfortable,’ he explained.
