Calendula balm for aches and pains
- Replies 1
Easy to make and use - simply rub some into the affected part/s of the body. Don't ingest the balm though, it can cause stomach upset.
1 cup olive oil (or other oil of your choice)
30g dried calendula leaves/roots/combo of both or same amount fresh leaves and stems
a piece of beeswax about the size of a square of chocolate
a glass jar for storing
Heat the oil until a little warmer than blood temp, add the calendula and let it sit and infuse 6 hours or overnight. Strain through fine cloth and press out as much oil as possible. Back onto the heat and gently warm the infused oil and the wax until combined, stirring well. Turn off the heat and bottle it. Keeps for many months just on the benchtop. Add more wax if you need a thicker balm.
Beeswax can be purchased from most pharmacies.
