Bluey fans had waited patiently—and now their moment had finally arrived.
After last year’s frenzy saw shelves wiped clean, Bunnings had quietly prepared a fresh wave of fan-favourite characters and collectables to launch once again.
This time, the collection promised even more colour, charm and chaos.
With gnomes affectionately dubbed ‘husbands’ and a fandom eager to reunite with them, the Bunnings x Bluey collaboration returned in stores from 30 July.
The much-loved collection included garden gnomes, DIY activities and new homewares pulled straight from Bluey and Bingo’s bedroom—including the iconic watermelon rug.
Bunnings also offered in-store scavenger hunts and exclusive Hammerbarn merchandise inspired by the show’s fictional hardware store.
Returning characters Hecuba, Tony, Jeremy and Meditation Gnome were joined by three newcomers: Gerald, plus Bride and Groom Gnomes.
Renita Henry, Aussie mum and food blogger, said the gnomes would be the ‘hottest selling’ items and likely to sell out first.
‘Hurry to Hammerbarn (Bunnings) as soon as the store opens tomorrow,’ she urged. ‘This range will sell out fast, especially by the number of comments and likes on the posts.’
She added that she personally loved the $39 rugs: ‘They are super cute, bright and will add a pop of colour to any space!’
Fans flooded social media with excitement, joking that they were ready to ‘finally get a husband’ or demanding their partners add gnomes to the shopping list.
‘People were asking, when am I gonna get married, and I used to tell them that I was going to the supermarket to buy one for myself… I guess now it’s official! It’s happening!’ one person commented.
But not everyone was thrilled.
Some shoppers worried the gnomes would once again be snapped up by scalpers and resold online at inflated prices.
‘There needs to be a purchase limit on the husbands,’ one person wrote. ‘I got there the morning of last time and they were long gone.’
Others echoed that sentiment, concerned the collection would be gone within hours and end up listed at three times the price.

Bunnings General Manager Marketing, Justine Mills, said the collaboration with BBC Studios and Ludo Studio brought Bluey world into Aussie homes with gnomes and kids’ homewares.
‘It’s clear how much fans connect with the show given how quickly last year’s Bluey gnomes flew off the shelves,’ she said.
BBC Studios’ Scott Modra added the range was all about imagination and fun, celebrating how Bluey had become part of everyday language and play.
