For many, coffee is the magical elixir that kickstarts our mornings and gets our brains in gear.
But according to experts, your daily cup of coffee may also help get your sex life a boost!
We all know caffeine acts as a stimulant, but Dr Karan Rajan explains exactly how it can boost arousal when consumed in higher amounts.
Caffeine at lower doses causes vasoconstriction, tightening your veins and slowing blood flow.
But at higher doses—like a strong triple shot of espresso—it has a vasodilating effect increasing blood circulation everywhere, including your sexual organs.
One brave volunteer confirmed she experienced intensely heightened arousal after three espressos and said: 'That was wild.'
The doctor added: 'Arousal, and orgasms, are largely based on the amount of blood flowing to your crown jewels.'
'The better your circulation, the more flow to your erectile tissue, thus the more likely you are to reach peak states of arousal.'
Dr Rajan admittedly said there is limited research on this phenomenon. Though he shared one study done in 2005 which showed that female rats who were given a dose of caffeine showed heightened sexual motivation.
However, as many of us know, caffeine is a stimulant that increases our energy in many aspects, so perhaps sex may be one of those aspects.
'There's no real hard science as to whether coffee could make or break your big trip to o-town,' Dr Rajan concluded.
'But it does seem like a fairly benign experiment, so do whatever you need to do to float your erogenous boat.'

Ah, but if you’re heading to your kitchen right now to brew a cheeky cuppa for, erm, reasons, you might want to wait after brekky!
Coffee lovers have been warned by researchers at the University of Bath in the UK to wait until after breakfast before indulging in their morning brew.
Male and female study participants were asked to drink a sugary beverage (with the same amount of calories as a typical breakfast) upon waking up.
In one experiment, they experienced a disrupted night's sleep, while in another, they slept normally. In a third experiment, they consumed black coffee 30 minutes before the sugary drink.
Findings suggest that having coffee on an empty stomach can increase blood sugar levels, which could contribute to the development of diabetes and heart disease.

Members, have you ever drank coffee before doing the deed? How was your experience? Does it line up with what Dr Rajan’s study suggests?

Key Takeaways
- An NHS surgeon, Dr Karan Rajan, has suggested that coffee could potentially enhance sexual experiences due to its effect on blood flow.
- High doses of caffeine, such as a triple espresso, could increase blood flow to the 'crown jewels', leading to better arousal and orgasms.
- While a 2005 study showed female rats with a dose of caffeine showed heightened sexual motivation, Dr Rajan stressed the limited research into its impact on human sexual activity.
- Despite the lack of concrete evidence, Dr Rajan suggests that the experiment seems benign and could be worth a try for those interested in potentially enhancing their sex life.
