McDonald's Australia has just announced a 'monumental' change to one of its most loved menu items: sweet 'n' sour sauce!
The foodie-favourite restaurant chain is introducing a limited-edition version of the sauce with a brand-new look starting August 15 as McDonald's will be celebrating the appearance of its products in Marvel Studios' upcoming season of Loki on Disney Plus.
Bright green packaging labels and a 'As Featured In' Meal series–which pays a nod to McDonald's references across popular film and television, including Clueless (1995) and Seinfeld (1989-1998)–will cover the sweet 'n' sour sauce, as well as a range of Macca's fan-favourite menu items.
The Loki meal consists of 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, fries, sweet 'n' sour sauce, and Coke Zero. Macca's fans will also have access to exclusive merchandise made by London-based streetwear brand Palace. Customers must scan the QR code on the packaging to access the exclusive merchandise.
But that’s not all! Marvel fans can also feast their eyes on a sneak peek of the new season via a themed AR (augmented reality) experience on Snapchat using the same QR code.
