Bex or Vincent's​

I remember my grandmother taking Vincent's powders every day. I'm thinking now, she may have been addicted to them.

The Advertising statement for Vincents was " Take Vincents with confidence". We created the Joke " Did you hear about the Girl that took Vincents with confidence? ...Now She is looking for Vincent! "

My parents both took these, in fact, i believe my father was addicted to them. Back in 2003 i was doing in home care for an elderly lady who gave me a full unopened packet of 24 Vincents powders. I still have them hidden away.

Yes, it was their slogan. If people still have any they would certainly be toxic by now

l remember when we had a shop n Berowra customers would come in for the Sunday papers and a Bex

I can remember working in an office between school and university and a lot of middle aged ladies there used to regularly take Bex or Vincents "in case they got a headache". It was only years later they were taken off the market as their adverse effects became known. A lot of people ended up with kidney failure. They were very addictive.

I remember Bex from when I first came to Australia and was staying in a migrant hostel in early 1967. I had never heard of them until a woman I had made friends with confessed that she had become addicted to them and was suffering shakes as a result. Luckily she went to the doctor and he sorted her out. After that I decided a headache was better than taking a Bex.

The first office I worked in after leaving school had a receptionist I noticed frequently taking Vincents. I talked to her one day and found out she was taking at least 6 powders a day. At least she was drinking a lot of water or tea.
