- Replies 4
No one wants to overspend and bother with unnecessary purchases, especially amid the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. But wouldn't it be great to get the same quality items you want without overstretching your budget?
Luckily, budget retailer Kmart, one of Australia's most loved stores for bargain hunters, has a fantastic line-up of high-quality dupes at the most affordable prices.
The prices of basic and essential items these days can be expensive. It's especially bad if you want to spoil yourself with a branded item or two because you know they’ll cost more.
Fortunately, you can visit Kmart to find bargain versions of luxe items and practical, everyday basics.
Recently, one savvy shopper shared a list of unique Kmart bargains, which quickly racked up over 850,000 views and hundreds of comments from fellow shoppers who were quite surprised by the vast range of potential money-saving items.
The shopper, who goes by the name livbeauty3 on social media, compared Kmart’s alternative beauty products, water bottles, and electronics to more expensive brands and told her viewers that she’s ‘loving’ the budget retailer’s current range.
The shopper started her video by comparing Drunk Elephant’s Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops, which usually cost $54, to Kmart’s beauty brand OXX which offers a similar product called Bronzer Drops. Kmart’s version, however, costs only $6.
Next, she compared Revlon’s Volumiser Blowout Brush, priced at $100, to Kmart’s Hot Air Styler from their brand Anko, priced at $35.
After that, she compared Peter Alexander’s nightwear, sold for $130 per set, to Kmart’s budget buy, which is sold for $20 per set.
In the photos she provided in the video, the PJ sets from both brands look precisely the same – minus the slight colour difference in Kmart’s bargain version and logo.
Not only is Kmart’s version $110 cheaper at $20 for a set, but many people in the comments also said it was ‘better quality’ than the branded set.
The shopper also included two drink bottle dupes.
First, she compared the Stanley Quencher H2.0 Tumbler, priced at $175, to Kmart’s Reusable Travel Cup, sold for $16.
Then, she compared the famous Frank Green Ceramic Reusable Bottle, which costs $60 for a 1,000ml bottle, to Kmart’s Fluro Pink Double Wall Insulated Cylinder Drink Bottle (960ml), priced at $15.

Many took to the comments to express their delight over the list.
‘The Frank green bottle dupe is my favourite, and I like it better than my actual Frank green,’ one shared.
‘The Kmart pyjamas are so comfy and cheap and awesome, I would recommend,’ one more replied.
A third replied: ‘You’re a queen for this. Running to Kmart now.’
Others, however, warned against using Kmart’s budget version of Revlon’s blowout brush.
‘That Revlon dupe literally caught on fire 5 minutes after I started using it. It also made a screeching noise,’ someone revealed.
‘Don’t trust the Kmart air styler, my first one I tried smelt like it was burning the entire time, and my replacement one caught on fire,’ another remarked.
‘Any dupe electronic items I’ve bought from Kmart never last me at all. That’s one thing I’d rather spend good money for,’ a third pointed out.
Because of the success of her first video, the shopper created another list of dupes she found at Kmart. This time, she focused more on homewares.
First on the list is Niche’s Bedside Table, which costs $400. The shopper compared it to Kmart’s $39 Arched Bedside Table, remarking how it ‘legitimately looks the exact same’. This is perfect for those who like a simple, minimalist approach to their interior decorations. You can read more about this dupe here.
Next, she compared a trendy mushroom lamp that’s worth $180 to Kmart’s $35 lamp, which looks just as cute as the high-end brand.
The shopper also advised against buying the $50 Heatless Curls kit and recommended Kmart’s Heatless Hair Rollers, priced at $4.50 per pack.

This isn’t the first time shoppers have spotted dupes of their favourite brands at Kmart. In a previous report, shoppers noted that the retailer’s perfumes are the exact dupes of designer fragrances – from the scent down to the bottle. You can read the full list of perfume dupes here.
