Beef steak in ALDI that “looked like Putin” leaves people in stitches

It’s not every day that people get to see something unusual (or eerie, in this case) during their grocery run; so whenever they do, they just want to share it with the world.

That’s what happened to this one ALDI shopper in the UK when he managed to come across a packet of Aberdeen Angus beef steak that resembles a few celebrities – like a royal prince and a certain Russian president you might be familiar with.

It was a regular day of shopping at Aldi when suddenly, musician Matt Gordon was left stunned after he came across something rather ‘disturbing’ in the store’s meat section.

In 2019, Matt told The Sun: “I was looking for something to eat for my tea and walked past the meat section when I was stopped in my tracks.”

Apparently, Matt saw an Aberdeen Angus sizzle steak on the supermarket shelf that looked just like Vladimir Putin.

“I had to keep going back. The resemblance was amazing.”

The musician then later shared the hilarious find with his mates and he said they were left in stitches. He also added that he didn’t buy the steak for fear of sizzling the Russian president’s beefy doppelganger.

“Who knows what might have happened to me, I might have ended up being well done myself,” he said.

The rare ‘Putin steak’ photo has gone viral since then, and has been shared on various social media sites.

One user on Reddit posted the photo on a forum with the caption: “Anyone else feels like they are being watched in ALDI?” with a wave of several other users adding their quips to the post.

“I think he has a beef with you, better watch out,” wrote one person, and a second added: “Looks like the steaks are high…”

A third user chimed in and added his own pun, saying: “Gotta have better security than that, can’t put people’s safety at steak.”

The popular UK-based page ‘No Context Brits’ has also shared the viral photo on their Twitter account, with the caption: “Putin spotted in Aldi” and plenty of other people were left in fits of laughter.

One user tweeted: “Always knew he was a meathead,” and another person replied, saying: “I thought it was because he had beef?”

Another Twitter user joked: “Bit of an insult to the steak.”

Meanwhile, a few others had some pretty wild suggestions as to who the face resembled, aside from Putin.

“Looks a bit like Prince Charles,” said one person.

What about you? Who do you think the steak resembles? Let us know in the comments below!
