BECAUSE I'M 85
A younger man was walking along when he noticed an older gentleman sitting on the curb, softly sobbing. He stopped, put his arm around the old man’s shoulder and asked,
“What’s the matter, my friend? Why the tears?”
“Because I’m 85 years old” replied the old man.
“We’ll, it can’t be all that bad. Do you have a home?” asked the younger man.
“Do I have a home? Of course, I have a home. 6 bedrooms, four bathrooms, huge kitchen. I bought it at 18% under market value 15 years ago.
Do I have a home he asks, of course I have a home.” explained the old man, trying not to sob.
“We’ll, then why are you crying?” the young man asked again. “Because I’m 85 years old” was his response.
“Yes, you said that. Do you have a wife?” the young man continued. “Of course, I have a wife. Married for 31 years. She is 30 years younger than me and very, beautiful.
She’s a wonderful cook, an excellent mother, and very thrifty.
So, yes to your question, I have a wife.”
“Well, that sounds good. So what do you have to cry about?” asked the young man getting a little frustrated.
“I’m crying because I’m 85 years old” replied the old man once again.
“Yes, this you mentioned,” said the young man. “Are you upset because things aren’t maybe going so well in the bedroom”?
“In the bedroom, what do you know about the bedroom” replied the old-timer.
“The bedroom is going quite well, thank you for asking. 2-3 times every day. What kind of question about the bedroom” replied the old man still sobbing.
“I’m just trying to find out why you're so sad, " the younger man replied.
“Because I’m 85 years old. Have I not told you this?”
“Yes, you did mention that, but you have a beautiful home that, may I just say, you bought very well, a beautiful, younger wife, she’s a good cook, very thrifty, and you still get to do the things in the bedroom.
I don’t understand why you’re so sad” continued the young man, becoming perplexed.
“Because I’m 85 years old and I forgot where I live” replied the old man.
